JOHOR PORT AWARDED ISO CERTIFICATION FOR QMS EXPANSION

KONTENA NASIONAL BERHAD EXPANDS ITS FLEET WITH THE ADDITION OF 30 NEW PRIME MOVERS
Kontena Nasional Berhad received 30 units of Volvo’s FM440 6×2 T RAS prime movers from Volvo Trucks Malaysia in a fleet expansion and modernisation move.
KUALA LUMPUR, 20 November 2015 – Johor Port Berhad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MMC Corporation Berhad (MMC), has been awarded with an International Organisation Standardisation (ISO) certification for Quality Management System expansion of scope covering port operations by SIRIM.
The ISO certification was presented by Puan Khalidah Mustafa, Managing Director of SIRIM to Encik Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port Berhad witnessed by Dato’ Sri Che Khalib, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad at the certification ceremony in Johor.
Johor Port Berhad’s achievement in obtaining the certification by SIRIM is a stepping stone for them to be the “First Multi-Purpose Port in Malaysia” to obtain this certification.
The certification shows that Johor Port Berhad practices the international standards in their field of specialty as specified by the ISO. It serves as a benchmark to position Johor Port Berhad’s standard with other ports around the world.
Speaking at the event, Dato’ Sri Che Khalib shared that “Johor Port Berhad’s achievement in obtaining the ISO certification is a testament of its employees determination and dedication to grow and serve the customers better.”
Following the success of the certification, Johor Port is now preparing to pursue the ISO 55001:2014 on Asset Management to provide a structured and best practice approach to manage its assets.
