JOHOR PORT CELEBRATES MERDEKA DAY WITH A PATRIOTIC DISPLAY OF JALUR GEMILANG AND FLAGS DISTRIBUTION
In August 2024, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, proudly celebrated Malaysia’s 67th Independence Day by installing Jalur Gemilang flags across the port and distributing Malaysian flags to all haulier drivers entering the port. The two events, which were held separately, symbolised the port’s dedication to the nation and embody the spirit of unity, pride, and Jiwa Merdeka, while merrily celebrating the festival together as a community. The flag installation included a display of giant flags at the port’s main entrance and Wisma Kontena.
While the Jalur Gemilang raising activity witnessed a collective contribution from employees of Johor Port, the flags distribution event was completed by Juhaimi Hashim, Head of the Container Department, Mohd Rafizal Esmail, Head of the Bulk & Breakbulk Department, Uda Sarimin, Head of the Maintenance & Repair Department and Azamuddin Khalid, Key Business Account Conventional.
These symbolic gestures are Johor Port’s pride as Malaysians while still honouring the great contributions made by all parties. The event adorned the port with hundreds of Jalur Gemilang flags, with the highlight being giant flags prominently displayed at the port main entrance and Wisma Kontena, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere that welcomes everyone who enters.
To ensure that all logistics and supply chain processes running smoothly, each contribution is vital. With this celebration, it is in hope that all parties would feel involved and appreciated. Each flag shared with them serves as a reminder of Johor Port’s shared values, the importance of working together for the nation’s progress, and pride as Malaysians. It fosters unity among the port’s community and offers everyone a chance for to show their love for the nation.
These annual patriotic activities also serve as a bridge, bringing together the community and act as a reminder of the journey Johor Port has paved over the years in support of the country’s economy. The events are organised to keep Jiwa Merdeka alive.
