KTMB MMC CARGO EXTENDS ITS CONNECTIVITY TO PORTS IN JOHOR

KONTENA NASIONAL BERHAD EXPANDS ITS FLEET WITH THE ADDITION OF 30 NEW PRIME MOVERS
Kontena Nasional Berhad received 30 units of Volvo’s FM440 6×2 T RAS prime movers from Volvo Trucks Malaysia in a fleet expansion and modernisation move.
KUALA LUMPUR, 4 April – KTMB MMC Cargo Sdn Bhd (KTMB MMC Cargo) further strengthens its Rail feeder services by extending its connectivity from Port Klang to Johor Port and Port of Tanjung Pelepas for domestic and transhipment containers.
KTMB MMC Cargo’s 100-container freight train, the longest laden container, successfully embarked on a landmark journey from Port Klang to Johor Port recently. The newly extended route will boost our feeder services following the success of regular and fixed schedule of Rail Inter-Terminal Transfer (ITT) Services between Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Johor Port.
The rail mode alternative offers a more seamless, flexible and reliable service to meet the industry’s growing demand and customers’ needs. This showcases our innovative logistics solutions and co-modality in optimising different mode of transport from the congested road corridor.
YBhg Dato’ Sarbini Tijan, President of KTM Berhad shared that “We look forward to serving all industry players with our rail cargo facilities which are now accessible from Port Klang to Johor. The new extended connection will simultaneously boost our productivity and economy via cargo services.”

KTMB MMC Cargo is responsible for developing rail freight services for integrated and efficient inland distribution for port users. The rail team manages the link between shipping lines, shippers, freight forwarders and railway operating company (KTMB).
