PORT OF TANJUNG PELEPAS WINS MALAYSIA’S 2014 BEST PORT AWARD

KONTENA NASIONAL BERHAD EXPANDS ITS FLEET WITH THE ADDITION OF 30 NEW PRIME MOVERS

Kontena Nasional Berhad received 30 units of Volvo’s FM440 6×2 T RAS prime movers from Volvo Trucks Malaysia in a fleet expansion and modernisation move.

KUALA LUMPUR, 31 October 2015 – Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), Malaysia’s biggest single port operator and a subsidiary of MMC Corporation Berhad (MMC), was named the winner of Malaysia’s 2014 Best Port Award, in conjunction with the World Maritime Day 2015 National level held at Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. 

“As a customer-centric organisation which strives to constantly enhance its services, deliver the best customer experience and continuously work towards upholding its standards within the industry, we are proud that PTP has been awarded with this prestigious award.  We will continue to improve the service level and further pursue our vision to be the preferred port of choice in the region”, said Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Chairman of PTP/Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad. 

“With various concerted efforts and a series of operational and technical initiatives initiated by PTP, we are confident that our strong performance will continue to be strong”, added Dato’ Sri Che Khalib. 

The award recognised PTP for its continuous positive improvement on productivity in container operations and better optimisation of resources in achieving its operational excellence. 

PTP has won numerous accolades and recognitions since its inclusion in 2000 such as the first Malaysian Port awarded the Integrated Management System, which integrated ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 1800, 2012 Asia Pacific Green Terminal Operator of The Year by Frost & Sullivan, APMT Review Excellence Award, Technology Business Review ASEAN Award for Excellence in Logistics and many others.
