JOHOR PORT BAGS INDUSTRY EXCELLENCE AWARD 2020

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 November 2021 – Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group proudly clinched two awards at the Anugerah Kecemerlangan Industri (AKI) or Industry Excellence Award for the Service Sector under Category 4 (Domestic company with sales turnover of more than RM100 million) and the Prime Minister’s Awards, the highest accolade at the awards ceremony.

Organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), the AKI Award was established to encourage and recognise outstanding Malaysian companies which emphasizes Continuous Improvement in their Products and Services; over the years has gained a reputation for being the nation’s premier corporate recognition award.

YBhg Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Chairman of Johor Port Berhad and Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad together with Md Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port Berhad received the award on behalf of Johor Port Berhad at the event. The Prime Minister’s Award which carries a cash prize of RM500,000.00 was personally handed over by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob.

ABOUT JOHOR PORT BERHAD

Johor Port Berhad, a Member of MMC Group is an integrated multi-purpose port facility located at the southern tip of Peninsula Malaysia providing a comprehensive range of port services to meet the individual needs of its customer. Johor Port is the largest Palm Oil terminal in the world and was designated as an approved London Metal Exchange (LME) location in 2004. Johor Port is also one of the largest discharging points for Rice and Cocoa in Malaysia as well as being one of the biggest Terminals in Malaysia for Fertilizer and Cement.
