PTP TRIUMPHS AT THE TRANSPORT EXPO ASIA AWARDS 2026 AS BEST PORT OPERATOR
On 22 October 2026, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group, has been named Best Port Operator at the Transport Expo Asia (TXA) Awards 2026. This prestigious accolade marks another significant achievement for Malaysia’s largest transshipment hub, celebrating the Port’s operational performance, service reliability, and continued growth in an increasingly demanding global maritime industry.
Organised to honour excellence across the region’s transport and logistics sector, the award was presented during a grand ceremony at Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown. YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia, presented the award in the presence of YBhg Dato’ Seri Jana Santhiran Muniayan, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport Malaysia. Receiving the award on behalf of PTP was Mark Hardiman, Chief Executive Officer, accompanied by Dr. Siti Noraishah Azizan, General Manager of Johor Port Authority.
The recognition highlights PTP’s steadfast commitment to operational excellence, particularly in terminal productivity, vessel turnaround performance, service reliability, and the ability to manage growing container volumes. These strides are supported by continuous improvements in PTP’s operational capabilities, as demonstrated by its record-breaking performance in 2025, when PTP efficiently handled 14,028,375 TEUs and became the first single container terminal in Malaysia to surpass 14 million TEUs annually.
This achievement belongs first and foremost to PTP’s nearly 6,700 employees, whose dedication, expertise, and commitment keep the terminal operating efficiently every day. PTP also extends its sincere appreciation to the government and regulatory authorities, customers, shareholders, business partners, and wider stakeholders for their continued trust and support. With their valued partnership, PTP will continue to expand terminal capacity, enhance operational capabilities, and strengthen Malaysia’s position in global maritime trade.
