On 30 September 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, took another significant step in its expansion plans by signing an agreement with Sany Marine Heavy Industry Co Ltd (Sany) for the purchase of four new quay cranes. The four new quay cranes, which will be part of the current 58 quay cranes are expected to sustain and increase PTP’s capacity. Subsequently, it would boost the handling of the day-to-day operations even further.

On 27 September 2024, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, donated one unit of Ultra-Low-Temperature (ULT) freezer to the Blood Bank of General Hospital Penang. This donation will support the blood bank's vital activities and ensure the safe storage of blood products for needy patients. The freezer also able to help increase the blood storing capacity for the hospital.

On 26 September 2024, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, continued its heartfelt tradition of gratitude and recognition by honouring 25 Johor Port retirees, accompanied by their spouses, at a grand Retiree Appreciation Ceremony held at the Renaissance Hotel Johor Bahru. The event not only marked the end of their professional journeys but also celebrated their significant contributions over the decades.

MMC Group & Penang Port Sdn. Bhd. (PPSB) welcomed a group of media representatives for an exclusive familiarisation visit on 23 September 2024. The tour showcased PPSB’s operations and facilities, highlighting its commitment to efficient and sustainable port services.

On 22 September 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, reached a new pinnacle of terminal operations by achieving an all-time high of 14,036 quayside moves within a single 12-hour shift. This surpasses the previous record of 13,764 moves, further solidifying PTP's position as a leading force in the local and regional port and maritime industry.

On 19 September 2024, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, hosted an academic visit from Politeknik Nilai. Johor Port welcomed 2 lecturers and 22 students from the Politeknik Nilai’s Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (DLS) Programme. The visit aimed to provide the students with firsthand exposure and practical insights on the operations of Johor Port Berhad and logistics industry.

From 17 to 20 September, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, participated in the 20th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The 2024 event was officiated by Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, has once again set a record for the highest break bulk cargo handling from a single vessel. Northport achieved this milestone with the handling of 52,480 Freight Weight Tonnes (FWTs) of steel cargo from a conventional cargo vessel, MV African Blackbird. This surpasses the previous record of 48,853 FWTs, set in March 2024 from MV Jin Chao. MV African Blackbird carried steel cargo, including steel coils and mixed steel products, which was handled at Wharf 20, Northport. The operation took place from 14 to 17 September 2024, over 9 working shifts.

On 11 September, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, marked a historical victory in the Johor Bahru Football Association's FA Cup when the company’s football club, PTP Football Club (PTP FC) secured the winning title. The team won the coveted title after a thrilling penalty shootout against Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri Football Club (MBIP FC).

On 9 September 2024, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, successfully convened the Group Internal Audit Roundtable Meeting (GIARM) 03/2024, bringing together Head of Group Internal Audit, Head of Internal Audit Departments and Internal Auditors from across the MMC Group of Companies namely, MMC Corporation Berhad (MMC), Northport (Malaysia) Bhd, Penang Port Sdn Bhd, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd, Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd, Gas Malaysia Berhad, Malakoff Corporation Berhad and Alam Flora Sdn Bhd. The GIARM was chaired by Lim Lee Tin, Head of Internal Audit Department, Johor Port.
