On 21 March 2024, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group announced another significant milestone with the successful completion of Malaysia’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering operation involving a container vessel. The pioneering landmark event involved MSC Sofia, which received LNG fuel during a port call.
On 21 March 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, presented the Fire and Rescue badges to Northport’s Firefighter personnel in recognition of their completion of mandatory training courses. The ceremony commemorated the achievements of 49 Firefighters who completed the mandatory training courses, including the Venomous Animal Handling Course, Diver Course and Emergency Response Service (“EMRS”) Course.
On 21st March 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, continued the tradition of spreading goodwill by nourishing the underprivileged communities in and around Gelang Patah and Johor Bahru in this holy month of Ramadan.
On 20 March 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd ("Northport"), a member of MMC Group, demonstrated its commitment to supporting community well-being by donating ten units of wheelchairs to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah ("HTAR") in Klang. The donation, which was part of Northport’s Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) initiatives, will provide essential mobility support to citizens and patients in need at the hospital.
Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, set a new record for the highest break bulk cargo handling from a single vessel. The milestone was achieved through the successful handling of 48,853 Freight Weight Tonnes (FWTs) of steel cargo from a conventional cargo vessel, MV Jin Chao, surpassing the previous record of 47,246 FWTs handled from MV Wu Yi Hai in May 2022.
Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a member of MMC Group, in collaboration with the Johor Port Authority (JPA), successfully distributed essential school supplies to 170 underprivileged students from 13 primary and 4 secondary schools within Gelang Patah, Johor.
Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, celebrated the success of the Johor Port Tuisyen Pintar YPM@KKDW Programme which has benefited 100 students around the Pasir Gudang area with an official closing ceremony held recently at the Main Hall of UNIKL Mitec.
On 8 March 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, partnered with Hard Rock Café Puteri Harbour, Jauhar Psychology and Kensington Green Specialist Centre to celebrate International Women's Day. The event, titled ‘Women Rock the World!’ focused on promoting female empowerment through mental and physical wellbeing.
On 7 March 2024, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, welcomed the delegation from Johor Sustainability Centre (JSC), led by its Chairman, Dato' Haji Ir. Hasni Mohammad for a familiarisation visit, aimed at establishing a partnership on sustainability initiatives and climate action in Johor.
On 6 March 2024, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, proudly celebrated International Women's Day, recognising the invaluable contributions of women across the organisation. The event was aligned with this year's theme, "Inspire Inclusion," which resonated deeply with Penang Port’s commitment to creating an environment that empowers women to thrive and reach their full potential.
