On 24 January 2025, Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, welcomed a courtesy visit from the Embassy of The Kyrgyz Republic in Malaysia. Dato’ Sasedharan Vasudevan, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Port, welcomed H.E. Anvar Anarbaev, Ambassador of The Kyrgyz Republic to Malaysia, and his delegation. The visit aimed to foster stronger bilateral relations between Penang Port and The Kyrgyz Republic.
On 18 January 2025, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, was honoured to welcome Takahashi Katsunori, State Minister for Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, and H.E. Shikata Noriyuki, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, along with their esteemed delegation to PTP.
On 17 January 2025, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, was honoured with the "Excellence in Automotive Sustainability Management Best Practices" award at the 20th Malaysia Car of the Year (MCOTY) 2024. The prestigious award event, co-organised by Mobility Media Sdn Bhd and the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), an agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), was held at Perdana Hall, MITI Tower in Kuala Lumpur. The award was presented by Datuk Hanafi Sakri, Deputy Secretary General (Industry) of MITI, to Fakhrul Azhar Tajudin, Northport’s Chief Executive Officer.
On 16 January 2025, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, kicked off the company’s 25th anniversary celebrations with a vibrant soft launch event held at Wisma PTP. The event, attended by over 400 employees from all levels and divisions, served as the official commencement of a year-long celebration, culminating in a grand finale later in the year.
On 16 January 2025, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, had the honour of hosting a visit from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), led by Prof. Madya Ir. Ts. Dr Jasrul Jamani Jamian.
On 14 January 2025, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, in collaboration with the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), organised an outreach programme titled ‘Workshop on Driving Productivity and Skills in Industry with Northport Stakeholders’. The programme introduced Akademi Dalam Industri (ADI) initiative and provided insights into its benefits for workforce development in the port sector.
Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a joint venture between Malaysia's MMC Corporation Berhad and Netherlands-based, APM Terminals, has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing its previous record and becoming the first container terminal in Malaysia to handle over 12.25 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEUs) in a single year.
On 19 December 2024 Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, celebrated a historic milestone as the Taiwan-based shipping lines, Wan Hai Lines (M) Sdn Bhd (Wan Hai) and Interasia Lines (M) Sdn Bhd (Interasia) successfully achieved a combined throughput of two million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in a single year at Northport.
On 16 December 2024, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, signed an agreement to acquire four units of Super Post Panamax Container Handling Ship-To-Shore Gantry Crane (Quay Cranes) from Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZPMC).
On 6 December 2024, Tanjung Bruas Port Sdn Bhd (Tanjung Bruas Port), a member of MMC Group, warmly welcomed a delegation from the Bintulu Port Authority (Bintulu Port) for an official visit to share insight on the port facilities and management.
