Penang Port Scores a First With Facial Recognition Tech

GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Port Commission (PPC) is beefing up security with state-of-the-art facial recognition technology at all entry points starting tomorrow. Visitors, customers, vendors and forwarders will now be identified via biometrics technology at all six PPC facilities, five of them in the mainland - North Butterworth Container Terminal, Butterworth Wharves, Prai Wharves, Prai Bulk Cargo Terminal and Vegetable Oil Tanker Pier.

Port of Tanjung Pelepas Wins in the Forward Faster Sustainability Awards 2023

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a joint venture between Malaysian based MMC Group and Hague based APM Terminals has been named as the award winner of the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) Forward Faster Sustainability Awards 2023, under the main Enterprise Category: “The Forward Faster Sustainability Award – Gender Equality”. PTP was also recognised under the Recognition Categories: “Partnership for the Goals Recognition” and “Pioneer Sustainable Development Action Recognition”.

Northport Receives the Highest Security Award

Northport (M) Bhd has been recognised with the highest award at the Anugerah Perdana Penarafan Bintang Sasaran Penting (APBSP) 2023 under the, Key Point II category. Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sets New Shift Volume Records

Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a joint venture between MMC Group and APM Terminals, secured another milestone when the terminal successfully sets a new shift volume record with 13,700 quayside moves in a single 12 hours shift, breaking its own previous shift record of 12,557 moves set in 2020.
