PORT OF TANJUNG PELEPAS CLOSES 2025 BREAKING 14 MILLION TEUS IN 25TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR

ISKANDAR PUTERI, 6 January 2026 – Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a joint venture between Malaysia-based MMC Group and Netherlands-based APM Terminals, achieved a historic milestone by recording 14,028,375 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) over the full 2025 calendar year, surpassing the 14 million TEU mark and setting a record for its own operations.

The strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in MMC Ports' journey towards digitalisation and operational excellence by leveraging the field-tested expertise of SIPG, the operator of Port of Shanghai, the world's largest and one of the most advanced container ports.

NORTHPORT ACHIEVES ANOTHER RECORDBREAKING PERFORMANCE

PORT KLANG, 7 November 2025 - Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, has continued its record-breaking momentum by achieving its highest-ever monthly container throughput in October 2025, surpassing its previous record set last year. The milestone was achieved with a total handling volume of 366,131 TEUs (“Twenty-foot Equivalent Units”) in October 2025, exceeding the previous record of 365,558 TEUs set in August 2024.

TAILWIND MAKES NORTHPORT ITS INTRA-ASIA REGIONAL HUB

PORT KLANG, 10 October 2025 – Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a subsidiary of MMC Port Holdings Berhad (“MMC Ports”), has been chosen by Tailwind Shipping Lines (“Tailwind”) as its Intra-Asia Regional Hub. A launch ceremony, graced by YB Tuan Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia, was held at Northport. Also present at the ceremony were Ms. Ulrike Wolf, Deputy Head of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to Malaysia, Dato' Seri Jana Santhiran Muniayan, Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport Malaysia and Capt. K. Subramaniam General Manager of Port Klang Authority, together with senior officials from Malaysian Government agencies, industry partners, customers and port stakeholders.
