Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, celebrated a historic milestone as it welcomed MV OOCL Japan on 20 May 2024, the largest ever container vessel to berth at its facilities. Owned by Orient Overseas Container Line (“OOCL”) Limited, MV OOCL Japan boasts a capacity of 21,413 TEUs, setting a new record for Northport by surpassing the previous largest ship to call at its port, Eugen Maersk, which had a capacity of 11,000 TEUs in 2013.

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd ("Northport"), a member of MMC Group, demonstrated its commitment to supporting community well-being by donating ten units of wheelchairs to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah ("HTAR") in Klang. Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, set a new record for the highest break bulk cargo handling from a single vessel. The milestone was achieved through the successful handling of 48,853 Freight Weight Tonnes (“FWTs”) of steel cargo from a conventional cargo vessel, MV Jin Chao, surpassing the previous record of 47,246 FWTs handled from MV Wu Yi Hai in May 2022.

Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a joint venture between the MMC Group and APM Terminals, along with the Johor Port Authority (JPA), distributed supplies for the new school year to 170 primary and secondary underprivileged students within Gelang Patah, Johor on 11 March 2024. The students were all selected from the adopted schools under PTP’s sustainable Corporate Social Investment (CSI) education initiative, Back-to-School Programme 2024.

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, continued its commitment to promoting human capital development by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the Department of Skills Development (“DSD”) of Ministry of Human Resources. The MoU documents were signed by Northport’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof and the Director General of Skills Development, Ts. Zuleah Darsong. The signing of the MoU signified a crucial step for both parties to collaboratively develop a skilled workforce in the field of port management and operations.

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group, was announced as the winner of the "Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Practitioner with Best Integrity" Special Award at the Integrity, Governance, and Anti-corruption Awards (“AIGA”) 2023 event. During the same event, Northport was also honoured with the Gold Award of AIGA 2023. The award ceremony event was hosted by the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM) at Dewan Seri Siantan, Perbadanan Putrajaya on 29 February 2024.

Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (“Northport”), a member of MMC Group officially received 9 units of new Rubber Tyred Gantry (“RTG”) cranes. The new terminal equipment is the first batch of a total of 23 units of diesel-powered RTGs and 11 units of electrified RTGs or eRTGs purchased by Northport from Mitsui E&S Machinery Co., Ltd. (“Mitsui E&S”).
