Yan Port has become the first major port in the northern region of the Straits of Malacca to handle two Very Large Crude Carriers (‘VLCC’) inside its port limits. The Hong Kong-registered VLCCs with a length of 333 metres and 330 metres respectively and a maximum draft of 21 metres were the largest vessels to be handled by the port to date.

The event, which was held at Northport's premises in Port Klang, was attended by almost 3,000 guests, including customers, business partners, Government Agencies, community leaders, Northport staff and other stakeholders.

MMC Port Holdings Sdn Bhd (MMC Ports), via its whollyowned subsidiary, Andaman Port Sdn Bhd has successfully carried out its maiden Shipto-Ship (STS) transfer operation at Yan Port in Yan, Kedah. The STS operation was carried out smoothly on 25th and 26th April 2023 at one of the ten approved berths within Yan Port limit, located 5 nautical miles from the coastline of Pulau Bunting.

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, worked together with Jawatankuasa Pembangunan & Keselamatan Kampung Kuala Masai (JPKK Kuala Masai) and Pertubuhan Ihsan Johor to provide aid to 250 low household income families in the Pasir Gudang area in another meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Johor Port Prihatin, which took place from 12 April 2023 to 13 April 2023.

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, rolled out its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Jom Ke Sekolah Programme by contributing school supplies and financial aid to 100 primary school students in Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Cendana and Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Pasir Putih, in line with the start of the 2023 academic year.
